Nature Inspired Art Jewelry

Humblebeads Jewelry inspires the wearer to live mindfully, rejoice in the mystery of nature and experience the peace that comes from touching the earth.

Our jewelry is infused with a message of hope, courage and strength.

Humblebeads features motifs like birds and nests that remind the wearer to tuck away their hopes and dreams, protecting them until they are ready to soar off into the world.

"Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul" - Emily Dickinson

Or leaves and trees that speak of strong roots and paths  not taken...

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference." - Robert Frost

Or pendants and beads that share the beauty of the garden.  Each flower is a song and nature performs a symphony during those sweet months when the world is green and growing.

Jewelry becomes a symbol of those fleeting moments when change and growth remind us to cherish each other and embrace joy.  Just like summer captured in a photograph, a pendant can bring those memories flooding back.

"Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." - Henry David Thoreau

About the Artist

I discovered beads almost 20 years ago and began creating wearable works of art while I studied painting at art school.  After graduation I choose beads and jewelry as my medium, creating tiny masterpieces with clay, wire and metal. Just like the painters and poets before me, I look to nature as my muse as I translate those art school lessons of design and color into jewelry that reflects the natural beauty surrounding me.

I create each piece of jewelry in my home studio, nestled in a my farmhouse in the country where I'm surrounded by fields and trees.  I live in my sleepy hometown of South Haven on the shores of Lake Michigan, where my soul happens to find bliss on a daily basis.  My husband Jess creates with me, running our successful bead business while we raise our two teenage daughters.

I'm the author of Jewelry Designs from Nature and Beautiful Elements, books that focus on inspiration and creativity for jewelry makers. My jewelry has appeared in the pages of BeadStyle, Stringing Magazine, on HGTV and PBS's Beads, Baubles and Jewels.
